The Deckvest LITE+ life jacket uses the water-sensitive activation system UML Mk5 Inflator. A compressed paper capsule dissolves when wet, releasing a spring that punctures the CO2 cylinder.
Only water flowing upwards through the unit will cause it to deploy. Water, rain and spray running down the life jacket will not cause activation.
