The Muir HR4200 Thor is a high‑capacity horizontal windlass engineered for vessels between 18 and 25 metres (58–82 feet). This hydraulic version is designed for continuous‑duty, high‑torque operation, making it ideal for commercial vessels and large yachts. It features a durable marine‑grade white composite housing paired with chromed bronze and 316 stainless steel running gear. The HR4200 uses a powerful hydraulic motor system that delivers consistent performance under extreme load, supported by a superior oil‑bath worm drive gearbox for smooth and reliable operation.
This model supports multiple global chain standards and is compatible with 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, and 16mm chain. It includes a high‑tensile stainless steel shaft, chain pipe and peeler, independent gypsy and capstan operation, and front double twin footings for secure mounting. The HR4200 is Auto Anchor compatible and includes the MORS manual override system for emergency operation. This version is the hydraulic drive configuration, suitable for vessels equipped with a hydraulic power system.
